Course introduction.
Rising input costs and declining soil condition can undermine fertiliser efficiency in oil palm plantations. This programme helps managers and technical personnel examine how soil structure, acidity, organic matter, roots and biological activity affect nutrient availability. Participants assess field constraints, explore Soil Food Web and regenerative approaches, and prepare an appropriate treatment and monitoring plan. For an in-house plantation programme, supervised application establishes an approximately 100-palm demonstration where conditions permit. Biological approaches complement sound agronomy and responsible fertiliser management; the programme uses baseline records and follow-up monitoring to evaluate results before wider implementation.
