Course introduction.
Ganoderma and Basal Stem Rot risk can carry from affected land into the next oil palm planting cycle. This programme focuses on preventive management in nurseries and during replanting or young-palm establishment. Participants assess seedling health, roots, site history, sanitation and planting conditions, then examine the roles and limitations of biological approaches. Supervised activities include an approximately 100-seedling nursery demonstration and field establishment using available planting-ready seedlings. Treatment and comparison records support structured follow-up. The programme presents an integrated risk-reduction approach, not a guaranteed cure or complete prevention method for Ganoderma.

- Explain the roles and limitations of AMF, beneficial microorganisms and biochar within integrated risk reduction.
- Establish a monitored nursery demonstration and participate in BSR-aware site assessment and supervised field establishment.
- Develop nursery and young-palm records and a management plan for follow-up and longer-term surveillance.
